This Cookie Policy explains how BOLIAPP Private Limited uses cookies, local storage and similar technologies on boli-app.com, what each type does, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy (/legal/privacy-policy).
1. About this policy
BoliApp is operated by BOLIAPP Private Limited, a private limited company incorporated in Pakistan and based in Lahore, Punjab ("BoliApp", "we", "us" or "our"). This policy applies to the BoliApp website at boli-app.com and, when they are released, our mobile apps, which use comparable technologies such as device storage and push-notification tokens.
Personal data collected through cookies and similar technologies is handled in line with our Privacy Policy (/legal/privacy-policy).
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser when you visit it. They allow the website, or a third party working with it, to recognise your browser on later visits. Cookies set by BoliApp are "first-party" cookies; cookies set by other companies, such as advertising partners, are "third-party" cookies. Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser ("session" cookies) and others remain until they expire or you delete them ("persistent" cookies).
We also use similar technologies that work in a comparable way, and in this policy we refer to all of them as "cookies":
- Local storage and session storage: areas of your browser where a website can save small amounts of information, such as your language or theme preference.
- Pixels and scripts: small pieces of code, including those loaded by Google, that record when a page or ad has been viewed.
- Push-notification tokens: identifiers created by your browser or device that let us send you notifications you have agreed to receive.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for BoliApp to work and cannot be switched off in our systems. Without them you cannot sign in, place bids, make offers, chat or use other account features. Because they are required to provide the Service you ask for, we do not need your consent to use them.
- Session and authentication tokens that keep you signed in securely as you move between pages.
- Security cookies that help detect suspicious log-ins, recognise new devices and protect your account from misuse.
- Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) protection, which ensures that actions such as bidding or changing settings really come from you.
- Load-balancing cookies that route your requests to the right server so the site stays fast and available.
4. Preference cookies
These technologies remember choices you make so that BoliApp works the way you prefer. They are mostly stored in your browser's local storage and are not used to track you on other websites.
- Your language choice between English and Urdu.
- Your display theme, light or dark.
- Your recent searches, so you can repeat them quickly.
5. Analytics and performance cookies
These cookies help us understand how people use BoliApp, for example which pages are visited most, how long pages take to load and where errors occur. We use this information to fix problems and improve the Service.
Analytics information is collected through our analytics service providers and is used in aggregated or pseudonymised form. It is not used by us to identify you personally.
6. Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)
BoliApp shows ads on its website through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies, such as the DoubleClick cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to BoliApp and/or other sites on the internet.
Advertising cookies may also be used to limit how often you see the same ad, measure how ads perform and help prevent ad fraud. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before personalised advertising cookies are used.

7. Push notifications
If you allow notifications in your browser or, in future, on your mobile device, we store a push-notification token so that we can send you alerts, such as when you are outbid, receive an offer or get a new chat message. These notifications are delivered through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging.
You can turn push notifications off at any time in your browser or device settings, or choose which alerts you receive in your BoliApp notification preferences. Turning them off does not affect your ability to use the website.
8. How to manage cookies
You can control cookies in several ways. Please note that if you block or delete strictly necessary cookies, you will be signed out and features such as log-in, bidding and chat will not work properly. If you clear your browser's local storage, your language and theme preferences will be reset.
- Browser settings: most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies and site data. Check the "Settings", "Privacy" or "Help" section of your browser for instructions.
- Google Ads Settings: opt out of personalised advertising from Google at https://adssettings.google.com.
- Other advertising vendors: opt out of personalised advertising cookies from some third-party vendors at www.aboutads.info.
- Notifications: switch push notifications off in your browser or device settings.
9. Changes to this policy and contact
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the technologies we use or when the law changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
