Prohibited & Restricted Items
These rules list what cannot be listed on BoliApp, what can be listed only under conditions, and how every ad must be posted. They apply to products, property for sale and rent, jobs and services, in every sale mode including auctions.
1. How these rules apply
BoliApp is operated by BOLIAPP Private Limited, Lahore, Pakistan. Every listing on BoliApp must be lawful in Pakistan and must follow these rules, our Terms of Service (/legal/terms-of-service) and our Community Guidelines (/legal/community-guidelines). These rules also serve as BoliApp’s posting rules.
You are responsible for making sure that what you list, and the way you sell it, is legal. If an item is not mentioned here but is illegal to sell or advertise in Pakistan, it is also prohibited on BoliApp. Prohibited items may not be listed at all. Restricted items may be listed only if every condition stated for them is met. Where we are unsure whether a listing is lawful, we may remove it.
2. Weapons, ammunition and dangerous goods
BoliApp does not allow the sale of weapons or dangerous goods, even where the seller or buyer holds a licence. Licensed arms dealing in Pakistan is regulated under the Pakistan Arms Ordinance 1965 and must take place through authorised channels, not an online marketplace.
- Firearms of any kind, including pistols, rifles, shotguns, air guns that require a licence, and replica or imitation firearms that can be mistaken for real ones.
- Ammunition, cartridges, magazines, gun parts, silencers and conversion kits.
- Explosives, fireworks, firecrackers, detonators and materials for making them.
- Knives and blades designed as weapons, such as flick knives and knuckle-dusters, and tasers or stun guns.
- Toxic, flammable, radioactive or otherwise hazardous chemicals and substances.
- Military, police and security-force uniforms, badges and equipment that could be used for impersonation.
3. Drugs, medicines, alcohol and tobacco
Narcotics and controlled substances are prohibited under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act 1997, and the sale of medicines is regulated under the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan Act 2012. BoliApp does not allow any of the following:
- Narcotics, psychotropic and controlled substances, including charas, heroin, ice (methamphetamine) and cannabis products, and equipment intended for drug use.
- Prescription medicines, injections and controlled drugs, unless listed by a licensed pharmacy that is authorised to sell them and does so only against a valid prescription.
- Unregistered, expired, counterfeit or smuggled medicines, and products making false medical or cure claims.
- Steroids, performance-enhancing drugs, and weight-loss or “sexual enhancement” pills that are not registered with DRAP.
- Alcohol of any kind.
- Tobacco products, cigarettes, naswar, e-cigarettes and vapes are restricted: they may be listed only where lawful, may never be sold or delivered to anyone under 18, and must not be smuggled or lack required tax stamps.
4. Counterfeit, stolen and infringing goods
Selling fake or stolen goods harms buyers and rights owners and is a criminal matter. Trade marks are protected under the Trade Marks Ordinance 2001. For how rights owners can report infringement, see our Intellectual Property Policy (/legal/intellectual-property).
- Counterfeit, replica, “first copy”, “master copy” or “AAA quality” goods that copy another brand’s name, logo or design.
- Pirated software, films, music, games, books and courses, and devices loaded with pirated content.
- Stolen goods, including stolen phones, vehicles, vehicle parts and bicycles, or items whose ownership the seller cannot show.
- Goods smuggled into Pakistan or sold to avoid customs duty and taxes.
- Listings that use another brand’s name or logo to attract buyers to unrelated or unbranded items.
5. Documents, money, financial schemes and gambling
BoliApp may not be used to trade official documents or money, or to promote schemes that put people’s savings at risk.
- CNICs, passports, driving licences, number plates, vehicle registration books, degrees, certificates and other government or official documents, whether real or fake.
- Pakistani or foreign currency notes and coins for exchange or at a premium, and counterfeit money. Genuine collectible coins and notes may be listed as collectibles at a stated price.
- Bank accounts, SIM cards registered in another person’s name, and payment, wallet or social media accounts.
- Pyramid, Ponzi and multi-level marketing schemes, “guaranteed return” investments, and cryptocurrency investment or trading schemes.
- Loans, debt collection or credit offered by unlicensed lenders.
- Gambling, betting, satta, lotteries, raffles and lucky draws, and trading in prize bonds outside the channels authorised by the Government of Pakistan.
6. Wildlife, animals and human body parts
Wildlife in Pakistan is protected under federal and provincial wildlife laws. Domestic pets and livestock may be listed if they are lawfully owned, healthy and treated humanely. The following are prohibited:
- Protected or endangered species, such as falcons, houbara bustards, pangolins, turtles and tortoises, parrots and other birds taken from the wild, and big cats.
- Products made from protected species, including ivory, skins, furs, shells, horns, claws and trophies.
- Animals for fighting, and equipment or events for animal fighting.
- Human organs, tissue, blood, body fluids and remains, and offers to buy or sell kidneys or other organs.
7. Adult, hateful and offensive content
Content that is illegal in Pakistan or that targets people for who they are is not allowed anywhere on BoliApp, including in titles, photos, descriptions, store pages and chat.
- Pornographic or sexually explicit material, escort or “massage” services offering sexual services, and any sexual content involving minors.
- Blasphemous content, or content that disrespects religions, holy figures or sacred texts, contrary to Pakistani law.
- Hate speech, and sectarian, ethnic or extremist material, including material that promotes or glorifies proscribed organisations or violence.
- Content that harasses, threatens or defames a person, or shares private images without consent.
8. Digital goods, personal data and hacking tools
Unauthorised access to information systems and misuse of personal data are offences under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 (PECA). BoliApp does not allow:
- Hacking tools, malware, spyware, stalkerware, keyloggers, phishing kits and services to break into accounts or devices.
- Devices or services for jamming signals, intercepting calls or messages, or bypassing PTA device blocking.
- Databases, contact lists, CNIC data, call records or any other personal data about other people.
- Followers, likes, reviews, verified badges or accounts on social media or other platforms.
- Unlocking, “IMEI repair” or iCloud and FRP-bypass services for devices the customer does not lawfully own.
9. Mobile phones and PTA compliance
Mobile phones are one of the most popular categories on BoliApp and are restricted. In Pakistan, phones must be registered through the PTA Device Identification Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) to work on local networks.
- You must clearly state whether the phone is PTA-approved or non-PTA in the title or description. Non-PTA phones may be listed only if their status is stated clearly.
- Phones with a tampered, changed, cloned or duplicate IMEI are prohibited.
- Phones that are reported stolen, blocked, or locked to someone else’s account are prohibited.
- You must disclose known faults, replaced parts, battery health where available, and whether the box and accessories are original.
- Buyers should check the IMEI with PTA before paying. An undisclosed non-PTA status counts as “not as described” under our Return & Refund Policy (/legal/refund-policy).
10. Vehicles, property, jobs and services
These categories are allowed, but only when the conditions below are met.
- Vehicles: you must own the vehicle or be authorised to sell it, have its registration documents, and state the registration city, model year and mileage accurately. Non-custom-paid, smuggled or tampered-chassis vehicles are prohibited.
- Property for sale or rent: you must be the owner, or an agent with the owner’s authority to sell or rent it. Listings for properties in unapproved or illegal housing schemes, fake projects or files that do not exist are prohibited, and the price, size and location must be accurate.
- Jobs: job ads must describe a real job with a real employer. Ads that charge applicants any fee for registration, training, interviews, uniforms, visas or “processing” are prohibited, as are ads recruiting for work abroad by anyone who is not legally authorised to do so, and “work from home” ads that are really investment or recruitment schemes.
- Services: service providers must hold any licence their work requires. Services that are illegal, such as fake document making, exam impersonation, unlicensed medical procedures or debt recovery by threats, are prohibited.
11. Posting rules for every ad
All ads must help buyers make honest, informed decisions. Ads that break these rules may be edited, hidden or removed.
- Use an accurate title and description that match the item, including its condition and any defects.
- Use real photos of the actual item you are selling. Do not use stock photos for used items or photos copied from other sellers.
- List one item per ad, unless you are selling an identical set or a bundle at a single price.
- Do not post duplicate ads for the same item. Edit or renew your existing ad instead.
- Choose the correct category and location for the item.
- Show the real price in PKR. Do not use fake prices such as Rs 1 to attract attention.
- Do not put phone numbers, links or other contact details in photos, titles or descriptions to avoid BoliApp messaging. Use your profile and BoliApp chat.
- Do not stuff ads with unrelated brand names or misleading keywords.

12. Reporting and enforcement
If you see a listing or user that breaks these rules, use “Report listing” or “Report user”, or contact us at boli-app.com/help/contact or info@boliapp.pk. BoliApp reviews listings using a combination of automated checks and human moderators. Depending on how serious the breach is, and whether it is repeated, we may:
- Reject or remove the listing, or ask you to edit it.
- Give a warning and reduce your trust score.
- Limit your ability to post, bid or chat for a period of time.
- Suspend or permanently close your account, including other accounts linked to you.
- Cancel paid promotions on removed listings without a refund.
- Preserve records and share information with law enforcement agencies, such as the FIA Cyber Crime Wing or police, when we receive a valid legal request or where there is a risk of serious harm.
- Serious breaches, such as selling weapons, drugs, stolen goods or organs, or exploiting minors, lead to immediate account closure.
